Isolation is when the British, Canadiens, and the Native peoples were divided into their own group but were still under the British government. To the Canadiens, this meant that they can continue on with their religion, language and have their own system of government. I think the Canadiens probably felt relief that they could be with their own people and keep their own religion and language, but I think they also felt disappointed because they were isolated from everyone else.
