To This Day...

As we discuss the theme of cyber-bullying in health, we are coming to find out what it is, what does it look like, and what negative effects it can have on a variety of people. We all must practice what we preach, and this is a great video to help keep us on track!! We watched this in class, and I encourage you to show others whom you may feel would benefit from watching this video. On Monday, I will ask us to post our thoughts and reflections from this video at the bottom of this post. (If you see this before Monday, by all means get started early...)

  1. The video about bullying made me think about those who really suffer from it. When the video says, "At night, while the others slept, we kept walking the tightrope." That means that they struggle more than anyone else, and they do not forget the comments said to them. A very powerful line that I remember from the video is, "If you don't see anything beautiful about yourself, then get a better mirror." The narrator is saying that despite the mean and negative comments said about you, you, along with everyone else, are beautiful. "You just have to believe that they were wrong!"

  2. I agree, I feel the line about really looking at yourself to find your beauty has a very powerful message! As it is said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We may not all agree on what is beautiful, but as long as we can find some beauty within ourselves we may become resilient to the hurtful words of others. Thanks for your post Patrizia!

  3. I think that the man is trying to tell people that your Beauty full and everybody's opinion is not what you need to beleave. I also believe that he is trying to tell his story and others because he is showing how it effects people who are bullyed and what it feels like. I feel like this has effected me because I didn't really understand what they felt before watching but now I understand more and it is not the way people should think about themselves and feel.

  4. I see this message as an interesting point of view because the narrator uses a lot of strong words that gets you thinking what bullying looks like from the point of view of someone who was bullied rather than a bully, parents of bully's and the bullied,or an onlooker. He is retelling the story from the perspective of his older self showing that these things go with you as you age no matter what else your told by your future friends/family. It is saying that you might wish that you could go back and tell your younger self what you know now: that they were wrong. That you need to believe that they were wrong in order to get this burden that has been following you off your shoulders.

  5. I believe that this video demonstrates a powerful message that encourages viewers to see their beauty within. When the narrator speaks of the stories of the bullying victims I think it helps other bullying victims relate and know that they aren't alone. When the narratar says "look a little closer" (referring to the mirror) he is telling viewers to look deeper because we are all beautiful inside out and you can't stop looking until you find that beauty. I believe that statement is powerful and supportive. In conclusion I believe that this video supports anyone who is a victim of bullying

  7. I think this video is a great way to show what cyber bullying really is. It has a very powerful message. In the video the guy was showing his emotions by changing the volume of his voice and you can really tell that cyber bullying has affected how he feels about himself.#stopcyberbullying

  8. this video is very bold, it brings a clear and inspiring message to those who need the support. when the narrator said "the halls were a battleground". this means that they were bullied so often that they were even scared to go in the hallways of the school or else they would get a rude comment. The comment that got to me the most was "You have to believe that the were WRONG!". This message got to me the most because it teaches adults or children who are being bullied that whatever rude comments people say you have to "believe that the WERE WRONG!

  9. This video made me think about those who struggle everyday at school because everyday they get bullied. In the video when the man said they "stayed inside during recess cause outside was worst" really touched me, the man said this beacause out side the girl and him would get even more picked on which it touched me because it suprised me that everyone that saw them get bullied didnt get involved with it they were bystanders which is really sad

  10. I believe that this video is trying to tell us that beauty comes from within and that what people see on the outside is their own problem. Unfortunately victims of bullying believe what the bullies are saying. I think that the narrator is trying to tell the victims to look in the mirror and that they are special. I think that this video relates to all of us to a certain degree because we all feel a sense of unworth and ugliness at times. We just need to look deeper we all have that beauty we just need to believe it and stand up to the bully and not make them win.

  12. This video is really powerful in the way it demonstrates bullying and how it can harm you so much that it could cause mental illness. It demostrates many people that were bullied throughout their life. This man is trying to say "stop bullying people because it hurts more than anything in the world." This is very true by the way he talks and his voice gets higher and deeper until.... he talks so slowly that he really gets everyone to know about bullying. #bullyingisnotright. David A.

  13. WOW!This video is heart braking, educational and meaningful.I know that if this happened to me I would be overly sad.Ohh the pour kids of the world. Anyway this video was amazing and a strong message to the world. I strongly agree with the message, even though the kid does not like pork chops anymore, what a shame[I love pork chops]. This video has made me more a where of the things these depressed kids are going through. It also inspires me to help others if they get bullied and or if they are depressed.

  14. This video made me realize that the people who get bullied suffer to the point that they think about committing suicide. When the narrator says "While the others slept we kept walking the tightrope" what I think he meant was that while the others were sleeping they were they awake hoping that the next day people would forget about them and move on.

    1. This video make me think about how much bullying can do to a person. Bullying can turn into drugs which makes your life miserable in more ways than you can imagine! looking at the person commuting suicide made me feel so sad. It makes me think that there are other ways than just killing someone physically. Like he said, don't ever thing that a broken bone is less painful than bullying!

  16. This video made me realize and think about how ,bulling someone can change the way the feel about themselves and how it can cause depression. And just like in the video when he said " we weren't the only kids who grew this way and til this day kids are still being called names" what I think he means by that is that everyone gets called names and has a point in their lives where they get bullied and that we should consider stopping before it gets out of hand or before smones life is at stake.

  17. This video is another example of how cruel kids are these days and how hard it was to live during school with all those rude kids that you can't get rid of. When the person said " at night when we walked the tight rope it was practice and some of us fell" he meant that we all try to get through it and some us didn't but some practised to succeed. I think this video is one of the best ways to stop all of the rude and cruel kids because it was very strong, heart filling and it really give the messages out to a lot of us. I think if we were to show every kid in the world this video about almost everyone would understand and help prevent bullying from happening ~Alyssa Ford

  18. I think this video teaches you a lot of things. It is telling you how bullying can change someone or someone's life.Being bullied can really hurt somebody but just not emotionally but physically because kids get overwhelmed and they commit suicide or hurt themselves.I think everyone should see this. I really liked this video and it taught me different things.

  19. I think that this video is a great example for the person who is getting bullied or for the ones who about to bully someone.Getting bullied by someone really hurts and can change something negative about them self witch can commit suicide.I think that this video can change someone thought about them self when they are getting bullied any type of way.

  20. This video makes me stop for a second and think about all the bullies in our school. It has such a powerful meaning about any type of bullying happening in our school/community. Even if it's Cyber-Bullying or any type of Bullying, he/she might get depressed or even further commit suicide. I think that if you show this video to any bully, they would be ashamed for themselves and might change their mind about bullying anyone

  21. I think that this video is very sad. Bullying can definitely lower someone's self esteem so they'll think they're not good enough they're too ugly. In the video when the bullies would spitball the victims the teacher didn't necessarily do anything to stop the bullies she just put the victims at the back. Being bullied can lead to depression and suicidal thoughts and maybe comitting suicide. ~ cindyyyyy

  22. After watching this video I came to the conclusion that the lives of people that have been bullied is depressing and lonely because people were rude to them and had no one to ask for help. The part that standed out to me the most was "during the night while people were sleeping we would walk on tightropes, yet some of us fell" because it means that they were struggling to look past the fact that they were getting bullied and that "some of us fell" meant that some of them couldn't handle it anymore so they commited suicide which made me feel sad.

  23. This video is very touching for many reasons and people because most people in school get bullied. The narrator in the video is trying to tell us to stop bullying before more get hurt.I see this in the story because when the narrator says "At night while others slept we kept walking the tightrope. This means that some people are being bullied and cant sleep while the people who are not being bullied are sleeping. There is more to that line some fall but we keep walking. That means that some give up on live but some fight till the finish

  24. I think this video has many touching and inspiration meanings. One of those meanings is that no matter what a person does or says to you is not real and they are just doing it to you because they are jealous of you and are bullying you because they don't want to show it. Another meaning is that you should stop bullying because in reality you are hurting yourself more than the person you are bullying. Not just that but you can make the person feel like they don't deserve to live, but in the end everyone deserves to live even the bully.
